"LOST" QUESTIONS I NEED ANSWERED [DISTRACTIONS]
There won’t be any gaming for me tonight, given Lost earnings at 9pm ET. I’ve got a collection of questions which I goal they’ll finalise this final, sixth season. Unrepentant deteriorate 1-5 spoiling in this post.
I proceed each deteriorate of ABC’s narratively labyrinthine Lost with whinging questions. I was certain I’d have fewer entrance in to tonight’s Season 6. The devise was which my mother and I would re-watch the five preceding seasons during Jan (ok, my plan, not hers). Watching all of which would have us super-smart about Lost, means of reckoning it all out. But. We’re usually up to the last third of Season 2. So most for study up and being means to answer my own questions.
Still, it’s not all our/my fault. There have been big questions about ABC’s Lost which viewers similar to me need answering.
Some of these questions I’ve asked prior to Some have been new. All have been bugging me:
1) Did Charlie die in vain? (aka is Desmond a liar? Or an unhandy visionary? Or both?)
The romantic gist of deteriorate 3 is the genocide of Charlie, the heart-of-gold ex-junkie who lets himself be drowned in an underwater Dharma station. He lets this occur because, progressing in the season, future-seeing companion Desmond tells him which Charlie’s genocide is a required component of a destiny which has Charlie’s island love, Claire, and Claire’s baby, Aaron, get on a helicopter and rotor off to safety. Charlie struggles to accept this predestine and eventually does. He dies a hero. What a guy! Oh, but contemptible Charlie, Claire goes blank late in Season 4, hasn’t been behind given solely in a little arrange of in-the-cabin maybe-dead kind of way, whilst Aaron’s been off the island you do only fine. Neither Claire nor Aaron left the island around helicopter, so it seems Desmond’s visions of the destiny aren’t so accurate. Or Desmond is a knave or a liar. What’s up there?
2) Speaking of Desmond, when have been he and Ben going to talk?
Desmond — infrequently deranged, infrequently time-warping and (see above) presumably mean Desmond — was introduced in Season 2 as a male who outlayed multiform years on The Island, dire a button, meditative the outward universe was toxic, desiring he was only about alone. Also in Season 2, we encounter Ben, personality of the clan of Island locals who have been masquerading as workers in the Dharma Initiative, the really organisation which Desmond believed was orchestrating his button-pushing existence. So when Ben and Desmond crossed paths a little time after they both encountered Jack, Kate and company, should they not have pronounced something to each other? Possible things they could have said: Desmond to Ben: “Wait, you were here all along and could see in to my hatch?” … or… Ben to Desmond: “Good work lying to these transport pile-up survivors. Of march we knew about each other, and Jack is a rascal for not realizing which you’re in on my schemes”… or.. something. Instead, as most appropriate I can recall, Ben and Desmond have nonetheless to have had a vital stage together. Why not?
(UPDATE: Reminders remind me that, whilst we might not have seen Ben and Desmond talk, we have seen them brawl. I still think they need to speak and insist who knew what.)
3) Where have been Claire, Walt and Cindy?
Claire: Dead or alive? I do not know, but people who have been associated to Jack appear to similar to looming in the Island’s puzzling cabin. I’d similar to an answer please. Walt: Special but not which special? Walt was a sorcery kid in the early seasons, display up as a shower soppy daze which helped Shannon travel in to Analucia’s line of fire. He was the child who desirous Locke to stand out of a array of corpses. He was so special which Locke was creepily training him backgammon and revelation him a still-untelevised tip early in Season 1. Yet Walt wasn’t critical sufficient to go behind to The Island in Seasons 4 and 5? Odd. And Cindy, the moody attendant: You’re one of the last justifications for the Tail Section Season 2 plot-line Cindy, but instead you only vanished, afterwards showed up early in Season 3 with a little kids in tow. What’s your understanding and can you clear the total Tail Section diversion? Bernard certain can’t, and the rest of them have been dead.
There have been copiousness some-more things to wonder. Will those “Adam and Eve” skeletons seen in the caves of deteriorate one spin out to be the corpses of any of the dear Lost survivors bounced by an additional time warp? Who is Ilana and this brand brand brand brand brand new coterie of people who projection Locke’s physique around in Season 5? Is Charles Widmore on the side of the angels after all? Why was Farraday great the really initial time we saw him? What is the point of Miles in this show?
Oh, I could go on, but, instead, let me end, in Lost conform with an culmination I’ve finished with before. Two theories about what could be suggested in deteriorate 6 which I formulated behind in May:
An old speculation I still like: In the past, Eloise is sensitive – around Jack or Faraday’s cover – about who will be the passengers of moody 815. She afterwards spends her hold up creation certain those people get on which plane. Their participation on it, therefore, is not a fluke but the compensation of an additional time loop.
A brand brand brand brand brand new speculation I like: The romantic culmination of deteriorate 3 – Charlie’s scapegoat in the underwater bottom – was busted for me when in deteriorate 4 the anticipation the future-seeing Desmond likely to Charlie – which Claire and the baby would leave the island in a helicopter if Charlie died – was disproved. That prophesy can’t come loyal if Claire’s been killed/disappeared. But what if Season 5 splinters the expel in to a brand brand brand brand brand new timeline? And what if, in this brand brand brand brand brand new timeline Claire and the baby do get off the/an island in a chopper? Then we’ll have to demeanour at Desmond anew: as a male who doesn’t only see the future, but who sees mixed probable futures.
Please no spoiling Season 6 only yet, but, otherwise, if you’ve done it this far, you indeed caring about Lost’s funny narrative. So answer my questions, please.
Oh, and what have been the contingency which for the fourth true deteriorate we finish Season 6 with Locke’s physique in a box? The male certain likes to rest in peace.
